Artificial Intelligence Artificial Intelligence are one of the drum and bass success stories of 2003. Having grown up together, the London-based pair got involved in producing and DJing initially through a love of hiphop, graduating later to drum and bass. Remarkably, their very first production efforts were snapped up by major players Marcus Intalex ("Ever On", Soulution EP, Soulr 2003) and Klute ("Embrace" and "Soul Good", Commercial Suicide 2003), tunes which excited interest throughout the scene and gained massive support from A-list DJs such as Marky and XRS, Bryan Gee and Fabio. Artificial Intelligence bring soulful and liquid sounds as well as some harder flavours to their distinctive productions. The same unique style is evident in their DJ work, which has seen them play regularly to crowds throughout the UK, Europe and beyond, most recently at the European dates of the Soulr tour with Marcus Intalex and Calibre. A busy summer locked away in the studio has also paid dividends for the partnership as they unfurl a string of releases for 2004 on labels such as V Recordings, 31 Records and Good Looking as well as fresh material for Soulr. With collaborative studio projects with Marky and XRS also in the pipeline, success certainly looks set to continue for AI.
