leke started on a career as a graphic artist but found himself drawn to fashion though
requests for designs on tee shirts and his many friends in the music business who needed
clothing that matched their lifestyle and outlook.
after learning how to transfer his skills as a graphic artist to the world of fashion
at the london college of fashion, leke started making waves in the corporate business
world and inroads in the music business world.
his initial creations, some of which incorporated cheeky twists on corporate logos, got him noticed by a few multinationals but, nonetheless, went down a storm in the underground club scene. tee-shirt design was the next logical step and was bound to be successful as it combined leke’s two passions: music and fashion.
rather than employ extensive advertising to promote aerosoul, leke pushed a trend that he had noticed growing around him: that of celebrities wearing the aerosoul brand. he saw his clothes being worn by the likes of the boo radleys, damage, fierce and even s club 7 and encouraged personalities such as omar, normski, a guy called gerald, dj kane, mc,s rodney p, roots manuva, dj skitz and many others to model his clothing.
as a some-time dj and connoisseur of music leke's progression into t-shirt design aimed primarily at this market was for him, a natural marriage of his two passions - music and clothing.
celebrity endorsement, word of mouth and intuitive placement of clothing (mainly in
record shops) has ensured that aerosoul achieves that most difficult of balancing acts:
whilst gaining popularity, it has remained an underground label.

aerosoul has just added two new ranges to its portfolio: the women’s wear range,
soulero sista – ‘feminine wear 4 urbanlivin’ – and a range called a.s. xtreme sports
(drop an ‘e’ at the start and you get the idea where its inspiration lies).
along with the increasing range of clothing, the geographic reach of aerosoul is also growing with new outlets in japan, canada and new zealand adding to those already in london, amsterdam, milan and germany. clothing can, of course, be ordered through the aerosoul website too.
